Summer is almost a month away, so to help you with your child care needs when school lets out, we would like you to meet a fabulous caregiver – our Nanny of the Month, Amy!
Amy has been providing temporary care services with our agency for more than three years, and she has become a family favorite.
Her love of caring for children started in her own childhood. Growing up in Columbia County, she started babysitting for children at twelve years old.
Amy has held many positions pertaining to children. She worked at a public library for many years as a library assistant and then as a children’s program coordinator. For ten years, she worked as a breastfeeding peer counselor at WIC and worked with many pregnant and breastfeeding moms while they learned about and established breastfeeding with their own children. While working at WIC, she attended the Healthy Children program and became a Certified Lactation Counselor. Amy also trained through Birth Arts International as a postpartum doula. She has also worked with pre-teens and teens in her role as substitute teacher in the middle school and high school that her daughter now attends.
Amy has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Through all of her varied roles, her passion is working with families with children of all ages, especially new parents and babies.
Amy enjoys spending her free time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys writing, and on weekends she works on a horse farm with border collies, sheep, and poultry.
“I’m honored to be nominated for Nanny of the Month,” she says. “I have enjoyed forming bonds with the families I’ve worked with, and I look forward to meeting more new families!”
Amy has been such an asset to our team here at A New England Nanny. She is a true professional and that is why we she is our Nanny of the Month!
