Our Process

Background Screening Process

The old adage “better to be safe than sorry” cannot be more true when it comes to using sources to hire an employee for your home. The dangers of hiring without a background screening process being performed range from theft to physical harm. All of which may be avoided by thoroughly checking an employment candidate’s background.

A New England Nanny screens its candidates rigorously with a Comprehensive Screening Process which includes:

  • Submission of a 13 -page application form
  • Thorough two-part interview including phone and face-to-face meetings
  • Comprehensive reference check of professional references
  • Criminal background check with sex offender registry
  • Department of Motor Vehicle check
  • Drug screening
  • Social security check (permanent placement only)
  • Orientation of our policies, procedures, and process

Candidates must also:

  • Have at least 2 years of recent relevant professional experience
  • Speak fluent English
  • Have proof of citizenship or evidence that they may legally work in the US
  • Have valid and clean driver’s license with reliable transportation
  • Be at least 18 years of age
