International Nanny Training Day (iNNTD) is returning to the Capital Region on April 13, 2024!
iNNTD is held to recognize the needs of young children and to raise awareness of the positive correlation between nanny training and quality care. This national initiative is part of Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
On Saturday, April 13th, nannies from all over the globe will gather virtually or on their own to learn, be supported and be inspired.
Locally, our agency will be hosting a fantastic event for nannies from all over the region. We have a fun and educational lineup of speakers, lunch will be provided, and CPR training will be available.
Here’s a look at the fun and informative sessions we have lined up for nannies this year:
Mallorie Gerwitz
Mallorie’s presentation, “No Really, You Can Be Mary Poppins!” will cover fun activities, minding the structure, and being comfortable with newborn care. Mallorie has 20+ years of experience as a babysitter and 5 years as a Professional Nanny. She holds her bachelor’s in communication science Disorders with K-12 Education (2010).
Janice Boyles
Janice will lead a discussion on the importance of good communication, and how to communicate more effectively with both parents and the children you care for. Janice has been in the early childhood education field since 1992 as a teacher in a church basement preschool in Syracuse, NY. From there she became a teacher in an inclusive classroom, a four-year-old classroom, and an after-school classroom, later holding the titles of Education Coordinator and Assistant Director of a daycare center before enjoying a position as an adjunct professor at a SUNY College.
Sara Martin
Sara’s presentation will cover the importance of mental health in the workplace, including an open discussion on the challenges that nannies face, tips on coping and self-care, stress reduction techniques, mental health resources, and more. Sara is a Senior HR Consultant with GTM Payroll Services. She has over 25 years of experience as an HR Generalist in retail, production, and professional work environments.
